808 Grinds delivers the most authentic Hawaiian flavors you'll find off the islands. Every dish is perfectly executed, from kalua pork, to loco moco. (Grab a spam musubi too!) Portions are generous, the mac salad is spot-on, and the staff is warm and welcoming. If you're searching for true island comfort food, this is the spot!
Amazing service by Sol. Not just for me but everyone in there. Food came quickly. Great/tight kitchen vibe. Kimchi ramen ($15) looks spicy bc it's red but is incredibly well-balanced. Loved the bean sprout me that garnished the rich broth and ramen noodles. I would have even liked more. Of course I ordered the Mac salad ($3) Clean tables to eat on; nice large community bar in the middle to offer a shared eating area. Cold water and utensils are on counter: self-serve.

Not a ton of flavor Curry: 5/10 good but not great Poke: 7/10 very good! Awesome sauces 808 fried chickens 7/10 very good. Crispy and flavorful Shoyu Chicken: 8/10 the portions are absolutely massive. Incredibly moist flavor Mac salad: 6/10 good but when u add teriyaki to it 8/10 Rice: 7/10 perfectly cooked.
Very solid food! Big fan of hawaiian food so I like trying new spots, hawaiian food is definitely a bigger thing in Portland. I really enjoyed the plates my boyfriend and I tried and the portions were a good size. Prices were fair! Service was friendly. Seating here is definitely hit or miss though, there was hardly any seating when we arrived, they have plenty of seating outside but not enough tables inside IMO. We just ate in the car since it was pouring down rain, but otherwise the food was great. As far as sauces go, I actually wasn't a big fan of the teriyaki sauce but the 808 soy sauce was good and my boyfriend enjoyed the jalapeño teriyaki sauce.
Fantastic food. used to be out at Intel and their food was so good. they had a wasabi mayo that was fantastic.
